MATHEMATICAL STATISTICIANS JOB

Ginicoe is the nation’s leading provider of quality data around the country’s P52 and income inequality issues. The Company is charged with collecting and analyzing data-driven insights to reduce and/or manage political, social, and macro-prudential risk based on individual behavior grounded in electronic financial transactions, through analysis of a multitude of complex survey datasets.

 

HOW DO MATHEMATICAL STATISTICIANS CONTRIBUTE TO GINICOE? Mathematical Statisticians are an integral part of the team providing a scientific approach used in our sample surveys, focus groups, and other data sources (e.g., public, private, and internal records).

 

 

DEMOGRAPHIC PROJECTS Design, implement, and maintain samples and frames, ensure accuracy and statistical validity, develop quality-control systems, and conduct experiments and evaluations for household sample surveys.

 

ECONOMIC PROGRAMS Research, develop, implement, and evaluate statistical methods for over 100 sample surveys and social justice scoring attributes to measure consumer behavior for a more perfect Union.

 

RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGY Conduct research to improve statistical methods used in the Ginicoe’s surveys and focus groups, and collaborate with staff from other areas to address statistical problems.

 

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MATHEMATICAL STATISTICIAN? Eligible mathematical statistician candidates must have a degree or a combination of education and experience, including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics and statistics (at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics). Differential calculus, integral calculus, multivariate calculus, and linear algebra or equivalent courses must be completed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

SURVEYS:  Areas of focus include sample design, census design and evaluation, and questionnaire development.

DATA COLLECTION:   Areas of focus include experimental design, quality assurance, and predictive modeling. Experience in the following tools is A+: AI, ML, ArcGIS Map, CSPro Software, Demographic analysis & population projection systems (DAPPS) software, OSDS, Population Analysis System (PAS) software, Rural Urban Projection (RUP) software, Tool for Assessing Statistical Capacity (TASC), VPLX Software,

PROCESSING AND EDITING:   Areas of focus include statistical computation and missing data methods research.

COVERAGE: Areas of focus include coverage and frame improvement and coverage measurement with particular emphasis on P52 diaspora, poverty, income inequality, and the wealth gap.

ESTIMATION: Areas of focus include measurement of survey error, variance estimation, and data quality measurements.
